A leap of faith. A calling that has felt beyond my capability. When this opportunity arose to join World Race, the amount of doubt and uncertainty I had signing up felt overwhelming, but ultimately, the Lord has given me peace. I kept making excuse after excuse as to why it shouldn’t be me. Why I shouldn’t sign up. How the Lord could use someone better. But then were my prayers of “Lord use me” in vain? I prayed it. And he answered. And he answered hard. And I kept thinking but what about my life? What about my people? You mean I have to do life without them? But God that’s hard. And I so very clearly heard the Jesus say “ I sacrificed my life for you kalli, and you can’t sacrifice 3 months for me?” And that’s when I knew I had no choice. No matter how hard it was. How uncertain I was. The Lord doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called, and so I signed up in faith, trusting the Lord has so much in store for me through this experience.

I didn’t think there was any way I would get in though, because I was a day after the deadline. But it was still open. Even though  I delayed in trusting the Lord, He made a way. I had my interview with Clara, and they accepted me. Woah. Wait. But God I wasn’t actually expecting to go. I just thought you wanted me to sign up as an act of trust. But God really said I choose you. I want you to spread my name. I want others to see me through you. Go kalli. The Lord has worked in my heart so much during this process. He is The Refiner. Purifying me. So many fears came upon me when I knew I was accepted. I have to get all my gear, I have to leave the people I love, and how am I going to raise all that money? And He said I will provide. I underprayed and He over delivered. My church blessed me at my fundraiser and I met 2/3 of my goal. Woah. Thank you God. But what about the rest of the money?  How am I supposed to get the rest? He saw this as an opportunity to prove to me that he is faithful, and he remains. Over and over again he told me “I am faithful”. And He did this through the people in my life. Through my church. Through my friends. Through parents. Through my coach. Through anonymous donors giving me the rest of my funds. Praise the Lord. But God- me? Who would want to give me that much money? Jesus I thank you. I thank you. He remains faithful over and over and over again. Leaving the people I love is hard. Missing out on things is hard. But submitting to the Lords will and calling on my life is my one desire. For years I have prayed Lord use me. I just want to be used by you. And he has answered. Even more so, He said dedicate your life to me as you enter this next year, on your birthday. What a gift it is to start serving the Lord as I enter this next year. This next season of my life. The Lord proves himself faithful every time- if you let him. Sometimes it takes a step of faith, other times it takes a giant leap. And this is where growth happens. Where growth in Christ happens. Lord thank you for being faithful.
